Principle of operation of GPS is to use a number of satellites in space as reference points for locating on the ground. Reception of satellite signals and calculation of the position can be done in two ways: the absolute and differential mode.
Absolute mode is using a single GPS receiver, and the accuracy of positioning is about 10 to 15 meters.
Differentialmode involves using two receivers, one acts as base station, which is installed in a fixed location with known coordinates.
